A car being driven by a 14 year-old boy, has slammed into a ute in Sydney's west, leaving a woman fighting for life.
The Holden Commodore collided head on with the Holden utility in Werrington on Thursday night.
A 27 year-old woman was trapped for over an hour in the wreckage.
NSW Fire and rescue's Kernin Lambert says it took a big effort to free her.
"Firefighters have worked very closely with paramedics and the medical team to release this person from the motor vehicle This was an extremely challenging rescue for our crews due to the severity of the collision."
She is in a critical condition in Westmead Hospital with serious leg injuries.
The young driver of the Commodore from Bidwill suffered serious abdominal injuries and fractures and is being treated at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Two other males aged 16 and 18 were also injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and are calling for anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
