A woman's body has been found inside the remains of a home which went up in flames at Bangor in Sydney's south this morning.
Firefighters were called to Paringa Place just before 5am, finding the building well alight with the roof, where the bedrooms are, partially collapsing.
A male resident was able to get out, he's now speaking with police.
"At this stage I understand another occupant has been able to get out of this house and get treated, but unfortunately a person has passed away in this fire," Fire Superintendent Adam Dewberry said.
A neighbour who came to his aid is now being treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.A
At this stage it's not known how the fire stared.
"The cause and the origin of this fire and the circumstances involving the casualty will be investigated throughout the morning" Dewberry said.
