Each and every year the Australian Good Food and Travel Guide compares restaurants around the country, blessing the finest with their tick of approval - a 'Chef's Hat'.  Named amongst the 408 winners this year, Wodonga's Miss Amelie picked up honours for the first time.  Located in the old Wodonga train station, chef David Kapay found inspiration from a trip to Europe:

"Whilst backpacking through Europe in 2008 my wife and I met a lovely young French woman on a train travelling from Lyon to the Swiss Alps. She was fun, welcoming, comforting and made an impact on our lives. Her name was Amelie. Her characteristics live on in our restaurant."

Miss Amelie is not the only hatted eatery on The Border, other restaurants from the region to score the prestigious accolade include The Terrace Restaurant at All Saints Estate in Wahgunyah, Provenance Restaurant Beechworth, and Albury's Border Wine Room.

Here's some pics of Miss Amelie's wares - warning, may cause you to drool!
