Each and every year we ask the people of The Border to dig deep for Give Me 5 For Kids, with the funds going directly to the Paediatric Ward at the Albury Base Hospital.

The buckets are in, the cheques have been cashed, we've checked the list and counted the money (twice)...

And thanks to your generous donations, in 2017 we raised a huge $57,611.63!

The money this year will help Albury Wodonga Health purchase vital equipment including Neonatal/paediatric transport ventilators for the Emergency Department. This compact device gives the ability for babies and children that require ventilation due to serious illness to be moved between the Emergency departments and the ICU whilst ensuring that they are given the best care and remain safe.

Also on this year's wish list, a Video Laryngoscope used to assist medical staff in the intubation of difficult airways.

In June, Lu & Matt spoke to Sam Peet, Nurse Unit Manager of the Children’s Ward at AWH about what Give Me 5 For Kids means in real terms for the treatment of sick kids on The Border:

Across the Southern Cross Austereo network Give Me 5 for Kids raised an amazing $2,581,548.38 in 2017.

This was a record breaking year and takes our total funds raised since 1994 to 22.3 million dollars to go back to local hospitals.
