A man’s appeared in the Albury Local Court, charged with aggravated break and enter, reckless wounding and cannabis supply charges over an alleged machete attack in Howlong.

Graeme David Oliver's accused of slashing a man's hand - causing a cut - at a Clarke Street home around midnight yesterday.

The 50-year-old victim not the only one hospitalised at Albury Base, Oliver himself receiving treatment for head and abdominal injuries after the resident defended himself with a cricket bat.

Fairfax Media reports he's been refused bail when he returns to court next Monday.
