No decision yet on NSW council mergers
Berejiklian quiet about discussions
New South Wales Premier, Gladys Berejiklian remains tight-lipped about the future of council amalgamations north of the Border, following a cabinet meeting yesterday.
Speculation came earlier this week that the new government may drop mergers before the court and ask ratepayers of local governments already merged - like Federation Council - to vote on whether to de-amalgamate.
Ms Berejiklian says yesterday's talks were "very productive and robust", that they're set to continue and a decision will be arrived at soon.
