Crime Victim Sets His Sights On Political Career

Stephen Lane is a familiar face to many people around town. He was born here, started his school at Kelso State Primary School, and has since gone on to be a successful small business owner. 

The 36-year-old has recently had a shocking run in with crime in Townsville and has since decided he wants to commence a career in politics. 

On Facebook over the weekend he started a live video to make the announcement official. 

"I'm here today to announce my intention to run for the State seat of Townsville in the upcoming election," said Stephen. 

The local who has been involved in community groups for years, went on to express his passion for NQ. 

"We have a lot to offer here in Townsville, and I love our city just as much as everyone else."

He then stated his motivation to run in the upcoming election. 

"I was subjected to an unprovoked attack by a group of people, prior to that I was also the victim of a break in at my house, these two events have sparked by interest in Law and Order."

"I'm committed to my community and I believe we need a strong, independent voice in Townsville."

"I believe that I can be that voice," stated Stephen.
