Uni exams are the most stressful time of year for students across the country. Well imagine being mid study block and being told your entire residential college is closing, and you’re out.
This is the reality for the entire cohort at Townsville JCU’s St Mark’s College, who were told on Tuesday night, just hours before their final exam that the college itself would be shutting down.
The students have until July 24 to organize new accommodation.
There currently around 100 students living in St. Mark’s, which is operating at about 2/3’s of capacity.
The college has been a big part of JCU culture, and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2015.
