A Townsville Police officer has come off second best in a Kelso arrest on Riverway Drive. 

On Tuesday when the arrest took place, a police car was rammed, resulting in an officer having his hand crushed between the 2 vehicles. 

From the impact of the collision, the boy in blue has lost the tips of 2 of his fingers. 

Kasie Richad Clifford Rice was arrested after the chaos. 

The 29-year-old has been charged with 18 offences. 

Rice is scheduled to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today charged with three counts of serious assault police officer, three counts of wilful damage, three counts of driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of driving a motor vehicle on a road and failing to stop at a road incident, and one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, failing to stop a motor vehicle, wilful damage of police property, and possessing dangerous drugs.
