The 2017 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro is set to come to an exciting climax this weekend.

Saturday, it's hoped the Women's event will come to a close, with the first Australian winner since it's turned pro a high chance

That includes Sally Fitzgibbons and Stephanie Gilmore, who will face off in the second semi.

Depending on conditions, the Men's event is likely to finish on Sunday, with reporter Caty Price saying the conditions will be brilliant.

"10 to 14 foot waves on Sunday, it's going to be absolute brilliant,' she said chatting to Triple M's Dan Leach.

And advice for those heading along to either day - get there early.

"It's likely to get underway around 7am on both days. And because there not many heats still to run, it'll probably be done by mid-morning." said Price.

Since the competition has made it onto the World Surfing League, no Australian has won either the men's or women's competition.
