CAR BOOT SALE - BUSSELTON

WHERE: Busselton Senior High School Oval - Queen Elizabeth Ave, Busselton

Busselton Senior High School is giving locals the opportunity to buy and sell unwanted goods at their car boot sale on the school oval.

This is a great community event with loads of opportunities for anyone who loves to grab a bargain or for those on the hunt for some special treasure.

Stall holder sell anything from books, plants, toys, antiques, collectables, gifts, furniture, home wares, handmade crafts, kitchen items, tools, pet care, jewellery, clothing and  bric a brac to name a few.

Sausage sizzle and coffee van available.

DEATH AND TAXES AT THE BRIDGETOWN REPERTORY THEATRE

WHEN: Saturday, 8pm

WHERE: Bridgetown Repertory Theatre

This play is highly entertaining and lots of fun!

FREE LEARN TO FLY SEMINAR

WHEN: Saturday, 12:30pm to 5:00pm

WHERE: Bunbury Airport - Rear car park Bunbury Airport, South West Hwy, Bunbury

Held at the Bunbury Aero Club (rear carpark Bunbury Airport). All ages and aspiring aviators welcome.

Go and see just how easy it is to learn how to fly.  Trial Introductory Flights where you take the controls are available for $99 (normally $125).

BRIDGETOWN HERITAGE FIELD DAY

WHEN: Saturday, 9.00am - 4.30pm

WHERE: Russell Family Farm - Glentulloch Rd, Bridgetown

There will be demonstrations of old tractors and bulldozers working the ground, haymaking, stationary engines, scale model steam engines, drag shaws, vintage cars, trucks & bikes many more old machinery. The lighting plant from the Terminus Hotel will be on display and if you have any information about this please contact one of the committee.

Kids can have a go at rope making or have a horse and wagon ride.  There will be billy tea & damper plus other refreshments will be available.

Entry is $10 for adults and U/16 & Exhibitors free

FROM FARM TO FORK AT THE SOUTH WEST RAIL AND HERITAGE CENTRE

There is so much for which we need to thank our farmers, those pioneers who blazed the frontiers, learning about this strange new land with its weather and soil peculiarities.  They persevered despite all of the odds and the South West Rail and Heritage Centre will pay homage to these hardworking innovative people who played a major role in developing our great state and in particular our slice of the state. This Open Day will provide lots of information and demonstrations of how these early people coped with the harsh conditions, adapted what was on hand to make life easier and the machinery they used to lighten their work loads.

The South West Rail and Heritage Centre, Turner St, Boyanup offers entry by donation, with light refreshments available from the Picnic Van and the sausage sizzle. 

JOHN BOYLE O’REILLY ASSOCIATION – FREE HERITAGE TOUR

WHEN: Sunday, Tour 10am - Celebration 11am

WHERE: Buffalo Rd (Leschenault Peninsula) approx. 25kms north of Bunbury

Help celebrate the life of Irish convict and poet John Boyle O’Reilly and his dramatic escape to America from the Bunbury region in 1869. JBOA invites you to join their free heritage tour in the very location where the escape took place. Join experienced guide Peter Murphy on a fascinating journey back in time to Western Australia’s convict past. Local actor Lachlan Kelly will add some realism by reciting some of O’Reilly’s poetry along the way. Tour will be followed by a short celebration of O’Reilly’s life with more poetry and song.

Bring: water, hat, camera, loose clothing (mosquito repellent provided)

WALK ON THE WILD SIDE AT THE EATON FORESHORE

WHEN: Sunday, 11.00am - 2.00pm

WHERE: Eaton Foreshore - Pratt Rd, Pelican Point

This is a free event and features birds of prey, python display, koala, exotic parrots, pet health talk, vet Q & A sessions, dog agility, pet/owner portraits, travelling farm and much more. All pets are welcome but must be reasonably restrained.
