Get Your Gear Off!

Did I Or Didn't I?

Article heading image for Get Your Gear Off!

Firstly, let me say again, I have no idea who comes up with these ideas, however in case you have not seen the memo today is Work Naked Day.

Ummmmm, hooray. I think.

I checked with HR and they said no, I advise you do the same if you're thinking of disrobing in the office.

Teachers, you're definitely out.

If you don't believe me, here is an excerpt from the website daysoftheyear.com (thanks guys).

History of Working Naked Day
Working Naked Day was founded by Lisa Kanarek. She created this day and in fact a brand called Working Naked®. She left a corporate job over 20 years ago, to start working from home. This was not the commonplace choice that it is today. Lisa stated that she didn’t even let on that she was working from home for the first five years for fear of not being taken seriously. My how things have changed! That, my friends, is exactly what Working Naked Day is all about! It is a day to celebrate the freedom and flexibility that working from home allows for. Tired of the stress filled commute? How about your commute being from the coffee pot in the kitchen to your office? I know which one I would pick! Want to trade your suits for bunny slippers and comfy clothes? Well this is how to do it!

In asking around the Triple M workplace today my question was met with cries of revulsion of varying degrees and when I asked the follow up question "what about at home?" again the air was filled with nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

What's the problem?

I love getting the gear off at every opportunity, however there are some things your co workers do NOT need to be exposed to, home though is different.

Thank goodness for high fences!

Isn't it also interesting that Work Naked Day is in our summer, in the northern hemisphere the participation rate might shrink.

By the way, I was going to ask you to send pics if you are taking part but HR said no to that as well.

Killjoys.
