If You Didn't Vote, Tough Luck

Bunbury Rate Rise Brings Outcry

Article heading image for If You Didn't Vote, Tough Luck

This week Bunbury City Council announced what some have called a "significant" and "unwarrented" rate rise.

Koombana foot bridge height has caused some outrage too.

Pitchforks have been sharpened and voices raised, we don't live in a police state so that's OK, you're allowed to have your say.

However if you did not use your voice in the last council elections to put the council in there, tough luck!

You have no argument to bring and anything you put forward now is irrelevant.

I'm no fan of some of the decisions made and personally I think a couple of the Councillors are numpties, but consider this, they are at least standing up.

Not all of the decisions will be popular and sometimes they will get it wrong, they however, are the people who give up every Tuesday and who knows how many other hours through the week to help run and guide the city.

If you don't like the direction or any of the projects being funded, and by the way, how do you think these things happen, magic, do something about it.

And if you didn't even vote in what was a pathetic turn out last time, do so next time. In the meantime, shut up.

If you can't be bothered getting up off your fat and wobbly and think it's acceptable to knock everything we have in this paradise, get a mirror and take a good hard look at yourself.
