Get ready for more howling tonight as Halloween descends upon us again.
Oh no, I'm not talking about ghosties and goblins and all things scarey, no this will be the screaming and bleating of the people who say Halloween is a pagan celebration or commercialism brought to our shores from America.
Blah, blah, blah.
The religious folk want nothing to do with it and see Halloween as being associated with the "dark arts and black magic" as one of my former co hosts put it.
Apparently that whole turning water into wine and raising from the dead were really just party tricks.
Maybe these folk don't want uninvited guests coming and knocking on their doors.
So here's my take, I see it as a bit of fun for kids who are starved of any sort of joy and silliness these days.
If you don't want your kids out there, and they certainly shouldn't be walking around at night unsupervised, don't join in.
And if any kids do come to your door and you don't like Halloween either don't open the door or tell them you gave the last of your goodies to the kids who just left.
It's not that big a deal.
Until next year.
