Camp Quality and PCH Winners

I'm very chuffed to be able to tell you about 2 fantastic things that happened on the weekend in Bunbury, the kind of things that put a HUGE smile on your face.

I hosted the annual dinner for the LRTAWA ( Livestock and Rural Transport Association Western Australia) conference on Saturday night to wrap up a weekend packed for the local SW and visiting reps from the industry and what a time it was.

As part of their annual event an auction is held on the Friday night for Camp Quality and this year the crew raised $13,500!

That's part one.

Part 2 featured me and one of my favourite ties, a KISS tie that I've had for a while and I've worn on stage all over the place.

It was decided this was the tie that would be auctioned as a fund raiser for Perth Children's Hospital, something the LRTAWA has done for some years and Saturday night was the chance to get some funds together again for PCH.

I had no idea what dollars could be acheived, I said "if it gets a couple of hundred bucks then goodo, I'm happy to help out" so imagine my amazement when the auctioneer STARTED the bidding at FIVE GRAND!!!!

Nothing.........................crickets...............

Then it got going, 5, then 5500, then 6....7......what.........8000.

I was floored, it kept going, finishing at $8,200. Yep, nearly eight and a half grand.

Now this is not a good on me moment, no way, it's about very generous people giving to charity and to that end, a big thanks to the family from Marleys Transport who came up with the dough.

I am led to believe the tie will be framed and displayed along with other ties that have been auctioned in the past by the LRTAWA and the team has said next year they'll do it all again.

For Camp Quality and PCH it was a brilliant weekend, thanks people.
