Will The PC Police PLEASE Go Away?

Enough Already

It's been discussed many times before which I hope means the genuine movement has begun to rid the world of the scourge of political correctness.

Have you heard the latest?

There is a hashtag #boycottpeterrabbitt that has been instigated by people who are upset, nay, outraged by a scene in an animated movie, Peter Rabbitt which involves a character being "bullied" by being attacked with their allergen.

Now to be fair, maybe this could have been written another way or dropped but the overreaction is in my mind laughable, not the fact of food allegies but the outrage de jour.

I want to scream "get a grip!"

When George Orwell wrote about the Thought Police I wonder if in his wildest drunken haze he could have envisaged the way the world has devolved where on any given day a group will have a gripe about something.

Personally I loathe wind, maybe I can ask for a boycott of Geraldton and Augusta in January. Surely someone will take up my cause.

Wouldn't it be delightful if we could mark a date on a calendar and say THAT is the day when political correctness will be gone?
