The White Bike Foundation exists to educate and protect road-sharers.

In 2015, Joel Hawkins was hit by a car while cycling on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.

Joel was 17 years old and pursuing a dream when his journey was cut short.

The #RideforJoel will see Chris Savage will cycle from Joel’s white bike memorial site in Dromana to Parliament House, Canberra, in the inaugural 1700km Dromana-Canberra.

He will ride through communities that have been affected by similarly tragic events, including Bendigo (March 19) where Chris will pay tribute to Jason Lowndes who lost his life just before Christmas. A white bike will be placed at that sight as a reminder for drivers and cyclists to watch out for eachother.

Chris’ ride is the first step towards our vision of making the road a safer place for all users.
