Three of Elton John's most loved hits have now been given proper video clips following a YouTube competition.

The videos were revealed at the Cannes Film Festival on the weekend, as John and songwriter Bernie Taupin celebrate their 50 year working partnership.

"Rocket Man" is an animated clip by Majid Adin, telling the tale of an Iranian refugee travelling to England and becoming an astronaut.

Director Jack Whitley and choreographer Laura Brownhill were behind the reminaging of "Bennie and the Jets" drawing inspiration from the 1927 sci-fi movie Metropolis.

While "Tiny Dancer" celebrates the weird but wonderful city of Los Angeles, directed by Max Weiland.

John was humbled by the process showing his music still lives on in a big way.

"The future of creativity is clearly collaborative, fusing art and technology, and it's been fantastic to open up our work to the next generation of creative talent and to share that process with the world on YouTube," he said.

Elton John appeared for the first time in public following his spell in hospital with a bacterial infection in April.
