Triple M's Leigh Montagna has tipped one Collingwood midfielder to depart the engine room and play elsewhere to ensure Dayne Beams can play on the ball.

JOEY'S CHOICE:

Beams returned to Collingwood in the final moments of the 2018 trade period, with the Pies giving up pick 18 and next year's first round pick for him.

It leaves the Pies with a conundrum: how do they fit the likes of Beams, Adam Treloar, Steele Sidebottom, Scott Pendlebury, Taylor Adams and Brayden Sier into one side?

"How does Nathan Buckley juggle all this talent in the engine room?" Jay Clark asked Joey.

Joey agreed that it was a good problem to have.

"That's a huge issue now. They've got the best midfield in the competition," he said.

"They've actually got too many players to fit in the centre bounce."

But he settled on one positional adjustment for one of their stars that would help Beams play in the midfield.

"I think that'd be a good role for him," he said.
