Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has told Triple M's Dead Set Legends Tyson Goldsack will "absolutely" play AFL this season.

LISTEN TO PENDLES:

Goldsack tore his anterior cruciate ligament back in March in a JLT Series win over the Western Bulldogs, with initial fears he would miss the rest of the season.

But Pendlebury, guest hosting Triple M's Dead Set Legends on Saturday, believed the 30-year-old would "absolutely" play footy this year.

"He did a fair bit of main training (on Friday), which is a really good sign," he said.

"It's probably that moment for me as a player that you sort of think 'well hold on, this is actually possible', because he's out here moving, he's cutting, he's not just in the gym lifting weights. He's now doing football function.

"As disappointed as we are for Dunny, you get a guy like Goldy who's a chance to get back this year. It's so exciting for the group."
