Adelaide Crows coach Don Pyke spoke on Triple M Adelaide and provided an update on the fitness of club captain Tex Walker.
Pyke confirmed to The Rush Hour With Jars and Louie that Tex had strained the plantar fascia in his foot while training, forcing him into a moon boot for two weeks.
The Crows coach also confirmed Walker will miss the AFLX and all preseason games, but were hopeful he'll will be ready for Round 1.
“He’s just got a bit of a strain," Pyke told Triple M.
"We thought now is a good time to get him off it (the foot) and get him right for Round 1.
"He’s in a moon boot at the moment, but he should be right and most importantly pain free before the season starts.”
The Crows take on Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Friday, March 23 in their first game of the season.
