Triple M's Andrew Jarman believes the time could be right for David Warner to take over as Test captain.
On Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie, Jars was disappointed with our recent record of "dull cricket" under Steve Smith.
"I've been watching this young man closely for the last couple of years," he said.
"He's a wonderful batsman, don't get me wrong. He's in the top three in the world. But as a captain, I think it's time for him to step down.
"This is a very, very dull cricket side. This is an individual that is a very quiet, dull individual, if I can be a little bit respectful in terms of Steve Smith - I don't know the man, but as an outsider looking in. We play dull cricket.
"What does this cricket side stand for under Steve Smith? The last two years we've been a very average cricket side going around the country, and more so in the sub-continent."
Jars believes Warner would be a more vibrant option to lead the side.
"Dave Warner, for me, going forward - and I know you might hit me down with a stick for this one - but I think he should be our next Test captain," he said.
"There's something about him, he's edgy. He's a bit like Virat Kohli, he plays a little bit like that. That's what we need.
"It's a bland cricket side."
