Reports circulated earlier this week that in-demand Adelaide Crows defender Jake Lever had met with Demons officials while in Melbourne for their game against the Magpies.
On his regular segment on Triple M Adelaide, Crows midfielder Rory Sloane revealed he hasn't spoken to Lever on his contract situation after the young defender went on radio himself yesterday to talk down the trade rumours.
“He’s quashed those rumours,” Sloane told Triple M.
“For us as well.
“As it stands for us, we have may more important things than his contract at the moment.”
With the Crows sitting atop the premiership ladder and heading into a finals series with firm belief they can take home this year’s flag, Sloane revealed, as a senior teammate, he tries to provide as much positive feedback to Lever as possibility.
“As I’ve expressed to him, we love what he’s doing for us,” Sloane told Jars and Louie.
“We want him performing for us at this time of the year because these opportunities don’t come around that often.
“These next three weeks leading into finals are so important for us leading into finals.”
