The Australian Tax Office has asked its staff to anonymously dob in lazy colleagues amid concerns staff are making the most of 'generous working conditions'.

In the memo sent out to staff in December, the ATO highlights breakfast eating at work, reading the newspaper and taking long lunches as signs of a slack coworker.

"Seen something suspicious?" the memo begins.

"You might have seen it before. A colleague makes a habit of taking long lunches, or regularly leaves early, or spends the first hour at work eating breakfast and reading the paper ... or all of the above."

This whole thing is a disgrace, but it's the direct attack of long lunches that has really upset the Kennedy Molloy team.

"This is the most un-Australian story I've ever read," Mick Molloy said.

"The Australian long lunch is as Australian as the smoko.

"You can't do that!.

Mick and Jane are heading around Australia for a 'Week of Long Lunches'. Five lunches, in five states, in five days.
