Eric Idle told Kennedy Molloy an incredible story about how a member of The Beatles mortgaged their house to fund Monty Python's Life of Brian.

IDLE'S STORY:

Idle joined Mick Molloy and Jane Kennedy on Kennedy Molloy ahead of the release of his book, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

Mick couldn't help but tell Eric his favourite film was Life of Brian, and Jane asked him to confirm the story about how the movie nearly didn't get made.

"It only got made because George mortgaged his house," he explained.

"He wanted to see the movie. He did. He's extraordinary.

"The most anybody's paid for a cinema ticket ever.

"Can you imagine telling the wife you've just mortgaged your house and put it on a Python film?"
