Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has told Kennedy Molloy the story of how he got stuck into brewing his own beer.

BRUCE EXPLAINS:

Dickson and Iron Maiden churn out plenty of beer, and Mick Molloy was very keen to find out where it all began.

"First of all, I like beer! It's a good start," he laughed.

He told the guys a marketing person came to the bench with a proposal to make an Iron Maiden red wine, which didn't quite hit the nail on the head for the band.

They instead wanted a beer.

"We all looked a little bit weird," he said.

"That's not really kind of we had in mind. We wanted something that had a bit of integrity to it, at which point the guy lost interest!

"We then thought well actually, it's not a bad idea. Maybe what we should do is approach some brewers and try and come up with a collaboration.

"And then (here we are) 25 million pints down the line!"
