Australian Hollywood royalty Paul Hogan joined Kennedy Molloy for a chat this afternoon, and the comedy legend left the door open for a return of his most famous character, Crocodile Dundee.

The internet was abuzz with rumours of a Dundee return, following a Tourism Australia Super Bowl ad campaign that centred around the son of Mick Dundee, played by American comedian Danny McBride, returning to Australia.

The ad campaign featured some of Australia's greatest ever acting exports - including Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie and Russell Crowe - and after generating so much buzz, Hoges suggested a return of Crocodile Dundee was now "a vague possibility".

"I was talking to Chris (Hemsworth) and Danny (McBride) and they've got some idea they want to float around," Hogan told Mick and Jane on Kennedy Molloy.

"Probably not, but you never know.

"I'm actually working on a film in May/June that's working title is 'Whatever Happened To Crocodile Dundee?'"

Despite no certain return of Crocodile Dundee, Hoges isn't done with the big screen yet, with the comedy legend featuring in Shane Jacobson's new film, 'That's Not My Dog!' that's due for release around the country for this weekend only.

Hogan stars alongside a cavalcade of Aussie comedy icons, including Jimeoin, Steve Vizard, Michala Banas, Fiona O'laughlin and a heap more.
