Could much-loved Aussie rockers Silverchair ever make a return to live stages?  The ARIA award-winning group went on indefinite hiatus in 2011, much to the disappointment of fans across the globe.

But there’s a slight glimmer of hope that the band will reform… According to Real Housewife of Melbourne, Jackie Gillies, wife of drummer Ben.

Fresh from the ‘I’m a Celeb’ jungle, Jackie Gillies is currently touring her motivational show ‘Shine It Up’ across the country.  She dropped by Lu & Matt to talk about her show, and when prompted about the future of Silverchair, said:

“Absolutely I believe that they will tour again, but it will happen at the right time.”

Crushing our hopes slightly, Jackie was also quick to note that it won’t be any time soon given the various individual projects on the go, “they’ve gotta go out and do their own things at the moment.”

Despite the fact Silverchair have never officially broken up the hiatus has been a long one, with frontman Daniel Johns resolute that the band’s return is inconceivable. Upon releasing a solo effort in 2015, Johns told the Sydney Morning Herald:

"It would have to be f--king extenuating circumstances… because I can't even imagine it”

But given Jackie is a psychic medium – can she see something we can’t?  Fingers crossed rock fans.
