Now in its 20th milestone year, the annual Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is gearing up for its biggest year ever for 2018, and to celebrate Commando Steve joined Mandy and Akmal for a chat.

Last year, almost 13,000 Aussie kids took part in the events, which also marked the registration of the 200,000th participant. The 2018 series promises to be even more successful.

National Ambassador, and former The Biggest Loser trainer, Steve Willis, is a devoted dad of four kids aged between 18 and two, and a dedicated advocate for kids living happy, healthy, active lives “Sanitarium is a community-minded company who really try to facilitate happy, healthy living,” Steve says. “They’re also passionate about kids’ health just like I am, so I can’t wait to do my bit to spread the word about such a fun, exciting series.”

Set out like a traditional triathlon, on the day kids first do a swim leg, followed by a cycle leg and finally a run before crossing the finish line to receive a special medallion for their huge achievement as their loved ones cheer them on.

All kids start the swim leg divided by age and gender into small groups. Younger kids in the seven to 10 age group do a 75m swim, 3km cycle and 500m run. Older kids aged 11 to 15 do a 150m swim, 6km cycle and 1km run.

The Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon will be here on the Central Coast on the 18th of February, registrations are now open at www.tryathlon.com.au
