Girls of the Riverina play Footy

Bridging the development gap

Girls of the Riverina play Footy

Now with the AFL Women's Competition in full swing it can be safe to say that many young women and girls will want to follow in the footsteps of the inaugural league players.  Now it may be possible with a special Youth Girls competition setup to bridge the gap between what was the end of a girl's football career at 14 to the now AFL level.  It's only 5 weeks set between the summer and winter sports so as not to take away from those sports but giving young women the opportunity to continue playing and strive for further development in the game.

Mandy spoke with Bec, Jess and Jenna, who are from the Riverina MIA, on why they like the game and how the competition has been going.
