After Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark was infamously denied entry into popular Brisbane nightspot Jade Buddha on the weekend, Marto, Ed and Robin spoke to the boss of the bar this morning.
"It was a bit like a scene from Monty Python," Phil Hogan said on Triple M Brisbane.
Hogan said that they were left in a bit of a tough spot with Queensland's liquor licensing laws and weren't prepared for the dignitary.
"He turned up at the door and he actually had 7 police officers with him," Hogan said.
"The doormen didn’t recognise him and they were asked ‘don’t you know who he is'.
"If he had Mary with him he would have waltzed in!"
He said that the staff were confident that it was the Danish prince after cross-checking via Google; "but they could have been terrorists for all we knew," Hogan said.
"I said to my brother: ‘If we do let him in, we’re breaking the law and we’re breaking the law in front of 5 or 6 coppers.’"
