Over the course of 3 hours, more than 2000 people watched ice melt on the Coffs Coast.

While temperatures soared into the late 30's and early 40's in some areas, Triple M on the Coffs Coast went live with a giant Triple M Ice Dome.

Starting at 1:30pm on Saturday, it took 3 hours and 24 minutes until the block vanished forever.

One Triple M viewer saying that their dog was mesmerised by the vision, another watching during breaks painting her house.

Triple M breakfast host Moffee gave a running commentary of the historic event, with some dubbing it as a moment that will be remembered like the first landing on the moon.

Viewers checked in from all parts of the country and the world, including Nowra and Wollongong on the NSW South Coast, a small town called Candelo, near Bega, as well as Ipswich, far north QLD, Singapore, USA, Canada and PNG.

Rain and storms began just minutes after the ice had disappeared.
