Blood, Sweat and Beers: Oz Rock from the Aztecs to Rose Tattoo is a fascinating read, chronicling the rock scene in Australia. Authored by rock journalist Murray Engleheart, it brings together different perspectives of those who were at the forefront of the genre through various generations.
It's also a living, breathing live show, drawing together some huge names of Oz Rock: Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), Mark Evans (AC/DC), Grant Walmsley (Screaming Jets), Jim Hilbun (The Angels), and Dai Pritchard (Rose Tattoo).
Mark Evans only played for 2 years with AC/DC, but his credits with the band include seminal albums T.N.T, High Voltage, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Let There Be Rock.
Ahead of shows on The Border Mark spoke to Triple M's Pip about how the live shows come together, AC/DC turning up on his favourite cartoon show, and the legendary Bon Scott.
Away from his public persona, Mark recounts how Bon was a house-trained man with impeccable manners, who would do the washing up after being invited to family roast dinners. Mark shares a hilarious story of Bon with his mother's "pussy!"
The Blood, Sweat and Beers live show will appear on The Border in the following locations:
Friday August 11: SS&A Club, Albury
Saturday August 12: Mulwala Water Ski Club.
