A day out at the cricket and footy got a little bit dearer this week with Adelaide Oval announcing a 1.5 percent price increase on food and beverages.

The price of a full strength beer (West End Draught) was raised from $8.90 to $9, while pies ($5.70 up to $5.70), hot chips ($5.60 up to $5.80) and water ($5 up to $5.10) were also a part of the 1.5 percent price increase across the board.

It's safe to say that the decision hasn't been a popular one with the public, and this morning the operations manager of Adelaide Oval, Darren Chandler phoned into Roo and Ditts on Triple M Adelaide to explain the decision.

"We don't like putting prices up," Chandler told Roo and Ditts.

"But unfortunately we have a business to run and we have to make everything stack up."

Does the price increase deter you from attending cricket and footy matches at Adelaide Oval?
