Ditts dropped a rumour this morning that could put Adelaide under the world sport spotlight.

Speaking on his Triple M Adelaide breakfast show, Ditts suggested that Adelaide could be in the box seat to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

"The Commonwealth Games committee has been in Adelaide over the last couple of days to see if we're actually worthy," Ditts said.

"And they go around and check out venues, accomodation, transport; to see if we could actually do it."

Listen to Ditts explain how and why Adelaide should host the 2026 Commonwealth Games:

Post

In recent years both Melbourne (2006) and the Gold Coast (2018) have hosted the Commonwealth Games, while the global success of the Games held in Glasgow in 2014 proves what a coup this would be for Adelaide.

The vote for hosting rights of the 2026 games will be held next year.
