The Adelaide Crows start to the 2018 Season hasn't been ideal.

Injuries to star players - including Rory Sloane, Taylor Walker, Matt and Brad Couch, and Mitch McGovern - have curtailed last season's Minor Premiers.

On the back of losing three out of their last four matches, the Crows currently sit outside the Top 8 in ninth, and South Australian football legend Graham Cornes believes that's where they'll stay.

Speaking on 7 News Adelaide last night, former Crows coach Cornes stated boldly that Adelaide won't make the finals this year.

"It's the halfway mark of the season and they've dropped out of the eight," Cornes said.

"And given their injuries, I don't think they can make the finals."

Cornes also said, that despite being "awful" against Hawthorn last the weekend, he believes the Power will go on to play in the finals this season.
