Port Adelaide star Brad Ebert was in the studio this morning for Roo and Ditts, when Roo quizzed him on congestion in footy.

LISTEN TO EBERT:

"All I do know is the AFL are very, very concerned about congestion in football," he said.

It prompted Ebert to come up with a fairly simple solution relating to umpiring.

"Nowadays they're calling that play on, and it just brings in half-forwards, half-backs and therefore then there is 15 a side in that little space."

He wasn't a fan of Malcolm Blight's proposal to limit the interchange rotations even further.

"Players will not like that at all," he said.

"I don't think that's going to be the thing that saves the game."
