Adelaide Crows board member and Triple M's very own Mark Ricciuto has stated categorically that the rumours Mitch McGovern wants out of Adelaide are "very wrong".

Sam McClure broke the story on his SEN Melbourne radio show yesterday, suggesting McGovern and his management weren't happy the Crows poached Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs in last year's trade period, despite telling McGovern there was no more money in the salary cap to increase their contract offer.

McClure said McGovern asked for a trade at the end of last season, despite signing a contract extension only weeks earlier, and suggesting the high-flying forward will again seek a trade away from Adelaide this offseason.

Speaking on Roo and Ditts this morning on Triple M Adelaide, Mark Riccutio hit those claims on their head, saying they were "very wrong".

"They're (the claims) wrong in most ways", Ricciuto said.

"As far as I know he didn't try and break the contract last year.

"I certainly haven't heard that he's breaking it this year, in fact his manager...knocked it on the head straight away and said it was ridiculous.

"The contract wasn't rushed. It took a long time to make happen, and he's on big money, as he should be."
