One of the stories that, for many months now, has had everyone shaking their heads.
So many people are outraged at the sentencing around the young hoon driver who pleaded guilty in court to the unfortunate death of Nicole Tucker which occurred in October of last year.
He admitted death by dangerous driving and only got 10 months sentence, which you can’t even try to justify how that equates to the life of a young woman.
But what about the impact and effect on Nicole’s family?
Nicole’s husband Brett has been disappointed and frustrated with the reporting of the case in the media, and as a result of yesterday’s sentencing, he gave Roo & Ditts a call this morning.
Ditts asked Brett, “I’m interested to know your reaction, our DPP have admitted that they’re powerless to do anything about this law. And I’m talking about the sentencing around this young lad. He was tried as an adult yet still got sentenced as a youth.
How do you respond to that, that their hands are tied?”
Listen to his powerful response here:
Our sincere thoughts are with the family and friends of Nicole during this time, and we really appreciate Brett taking the time to speak with us about this terrible tragedy.
