Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson joined the Crows Show host Alana Smith to fill in breakfast for Roo and Ditts.

Saturday night’s Showdown 42 saw Crows claim a 17-point win over Port. Soon after the final siren blew a brawl took place with later videos emerging on Facebook.

Matt from Cumberland Park was at the game with his 13-year-old son, he got on the phone to recount the night, ‘when the song came on people were just taunting each other with the song, singing in your face, invading your personal space.’

Gleeso reckons ‘friendly rivalry, that’s all well and good, but getting up in peoples grills and trying to antagonise them, it’s just a recipe for disaster.’

An anonymous caller got on the line to say, ‘the reason why that guy got hit, is because he was spitting on people and I find that fairly disgusting.’

Gleeso replied to the caller with ‘obviously smacking people around is probably not the best answer for that type of behaviour.

The main thing that we can take from that is if you see people doing stuff that is totally unacceptable or inappropriate. I guess you’ve gotta alert someone to the fact.’

Anonymous: 'I actually did tell the police officer what he did and I later on saw him outside again. I was going to do it again, but I didn’t.'

Alana asked, ‘do what again?’

Anonymous: 'I was gonna hit him again outside, but I got talked out of it.'

Alana: 'So, you actually threw the punch?'

Anonymous: 'Yes, I actually threw the punch.'

Alana said, ‘I’m not sure that’s ever the answer’, and I’m sure most people will agree with her.

Anonymous: 'I agree with you, because I was a bit drunk. It was a mistake on my part. But in the end, I feel he got what he deserved.'

Alana questioned him, asking if he regretted it at all and if he felt like he did the right thing.

Anonymous: 'I wouldn’t say it was the right thing. But in the end, he spat, I hit him and that was it.'

Alana: 'I think the wider view would be that that’s never the right thing to do.'

Anonymous: 'You’re probably correct, but it was a spur of the moment decision and that’s what happens.'
