Adelaide skipper Taylor Walker says the plan is for him to play round one, but he has to "do everything right" at training to get there.

Walker is nursing a plantar fascia injury which has seen him fail to play a pre-season game for the Crows, and left him with work to do to get back to full fitness.

He joined Roo & Ditts on Tuesday and said he believes he is on track to feature Friday week against Essendon.

LISTEN TO TEX WALKER:

“I train at a hundred percent every time I train!” he laughed.

“I’m still building up. We’re planning (full training) by the end of the week."

Walker says there's still a discussion about whether a week of full training will be enough to ensure he can play.

“That’s the discussion we’re going to have," he said.

“I’ll do everything that we’ve planned, and that’s planning on playing round one. I have to do everything right.”

It's also touch and go for midfielder Brad Crouch, who has a hamstring injury and won't play in the SANFL next week, according to Walker.

“We’ll ring Brad (to see how he is)!" Tex laughed.

“He’s done more (training) than what I have in the pre-season…he’ll be the same."
