Bruce Saunders Addresses Local Headlines Scandal

This morning Scott & Andrew talked to Bruce Saunders following a local news headline stating “Saunders wants the pollie perks to stay”.

Saunders receives an allowance of $105/night when required to travel for work, although he is entitled to claim $320/night. However Saunders revealed to Scott & Andrew that he has been giving the money from his allowance to members of the local community who are in need.

“Apparently on the Facebook last night I was rorting the system and giving it away. No, it wasn’t a rort, it’s quite legal. The allowance is there, but I didn’t keep the allowance myself. I gave it away, and I won’t mention it anymore. I’ve had my say.”
