Massive, massive news with the announcement that former greats of Manchester United will be taking on a collection of former Aussie greats, in a charity match at nib Stadium in March.
Clairsy and Kymba were pretty excited. Matt was OVER THE MOON with the news, seeing he’s a Man U fan and a former goalkeeper himself.
The guys spoke with former Socceroo and Perth Glory player, Simon Colosimo. about the big news.
As Simon said, Perth soccer fans will get their chance to see the likes of Red Devil legends such as Paul Scholes, Dwight Yorke, Denis Irwin and Teddy Sheringham, in a friendly to take place on March 25.
The game will raise money for the Manchester United Foundation’s work with young people in England, as well as for local organisation, the DT38 Foundation.
The DT38 Foundation was set up by Tracy Tombides after the death of her son Dylan, the Perth born and raised soccer player who represented Australia and English Premier League team West Ham United, before his sad and untimely death in 2014 (at the age of just 20), after a battle with testicular cancer.
Tickets for the match go on sale this Friday.
