Retiring Supercars legend Craig Lowndes stunned the motor racing world when he powered home at Mt Panorama on Sunday to claim his seventh Bathurst crown.

Lowndes wore down race leader Dave Reynolds - who succumbed to exhaustion, cramp and a penalty with 26 laps to go - allowing the 888 car to pass him and cruise home unopposed in a fairy tale for Lowndsey and a nightmare for Reynolds.
