With less than 12 hours until kick-off - and after two days of injury woes - you wouldn't blame Queensland coach Kevin Walters for being a little rattled.

But Kevvy was anything but as he spoke to Triple M Brisbane this morning, telling The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and the Moonman that since so much of Origin is about mental stamina, he's embracing being the underdog.

Kevvy also detailed exactly how Gagai picked up that compound dislocation in his finger - fair warning, it's probably not for the squeamish - and spoke about how excited he was to have Greg Inglis as captain of the 2018 side.
