“I’m Just A Little Bit Spooked With All These Sounds Coming Out Of Penrith

Season 2018 of the NRL is fast approaching, so Matty Johns is previewing every team and their chances.

Today it's the Penrith Panthers.

Listen to the full preview here.

“Matty Moylan gone. Bryce Cartwright gone. Leilani Latu gone. And Tyrone Peachey signed to go to the Gold Coast in 2019, but there’d been reports he wanted to go straight away.” says Matty Johns.

“Speculation that the playing group are unhappy with Anthony Griffin… the bottom line is there’s a lot going on at Penrith.”

“But they do have a cracking young halfback which a lot of sides haven’t got.”

Maloney is intriguing in this, because wherever Maloney goes, the side he goes to improves out of sight. He went from Parramatta to Melbourne, they won the comp. Went to the Warriors, they had a couple of very successful years including making a grand final. Went to the Roosters, they win the comp. Then the real test, he went to the Sharks who haven’t won a comp for 50 years and what happens? Bugger me they win the comp.”

“I’m just a little bit spooked with all these sounds coming out of Penrith… I don’t have Penrith in my 8.”
