Matty Johns Names His NSW Origin Team

The Triple M Grill Team's Matty Johns has named the full team that he thinks Laurie Daley must pick for this State Of Origin series.

"The Blues have an unhealthy loyalty to players who have been there and NOT done it before, or at least not done it enough. And that’s winning."

"Queensland are vulnerable. I’ve witnessed champion playmakers Johnathan Thurston and Cooper Cronk having difficulty against fast-moving, aggressive defences."

"The key to beating this ageing champion isn’t through picking players with experience, it’s through picking fearless young players who are in form and at their physical peak."

James Tedesco

"Not a question."

Jack Bird, Joey Leilua

'You need to players at their physical peak, are in form, and play with no fear'

'There's a lot of attacking threat in those two.'

Tom Trbojevic, Josh Dugan

"Whenever they picked ET, you just knew he was worth a try a game... Trbojevic is that sort of player."

Mitchell Pearce, James Maloney

'Pearce's performance last week under pressure shows why he should be picked.'

Wade Graham, Boyd Cordner, Tyson Frizell

'These back rowers conveniently have a combination with their halves. Maloney and Graham, and Pearce and Cordner.'

Shannon Boyd, Aaron Woods

'Last week, under pressure Woodsy put in a man of the match performance.'

'Boyd might only play 30 minutes.'

Nathan Peats

'This was the hardest as there was no stand out.'

'It's time to go in a different direction.'
