The Bulldogs Are Resorting To Desperate Measures To Sort Out Their Salary Cap Woes

The situation at the Bulldogs is likely to hit crisis mode, with the club struggling to offload talent in order to get under the cap.

As it stands, the salary cap figure for 2018 is yet to be finalised, however the Bulldogs have gone all out with the recruitment of Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran.

Speaking on Triple M's Grill Team, Matty Johns said that the club is trying everything to free up space.

“It’s so messy with all these contracts being signed so early. The latest one was Aaron Woods saying that he wouldn’t mind staying at the Tigers,” Matty said.

“At the moment, the Dogs are trying to get rid of players so they can get Foran and Woods in the team and under the cap. There’s talk of the Dogs going to players and saying ‘hey listen, unless you move onto another club, you’re going to play reserve grade’.

"And the players are happy to play reserve grade and get the money. The Dogs have got a lot of back-ended contracts."
