Triple M Grill Team's Matty Johns believes Mitchell Pearce could bring the best out of a 'reactive' Daly Cherry-Evans at the Manly Sea Eagles next season.
There are reports from The Daily Telegraph, 'DCE' has told the Manly coaching staff he's happy to move to five-eighth if Pearce is to join the Sea Eagles.
Matty told The Grill Team, "Daly Cherry-Evans plays like a six, that's how he plays."
"If you look at when Daly played his best football, right at the start when he first hit (the NRL), he had Kieran Foran steering traffic and he also had Glen Stewart outside him.
"So he had a lot of creatives around him which allowed him to either feed the ball early to Glen Stewart or take off and run. Daly's running game is his strength.
"Now when Kieran Foran left he had 12 months, a little bit, in the wilderness. He struggled because he didn't have a really strong halves partner to run the show alongside him.
"They put all that responsibility on his shoulders and it was a little bit too much.
"So what did Manly do, smartly they go and buy Blake Green.
"Blake Green arrives on the scene, suddenly Daly Cherry-Evans is playing his best football again because Blake Green steered traffic and Daly just ran then ball."
The Sea Eagles, Knights, Sharks and even the Storm have all been reported to have shown some interest in bringing Pearce to their respective clubs.
