Following a back page article in the Herald Sun this morning, Andy Lee has joined Triple M to defend his Carlton membership video.

In the clip, Lee and other notable Carlton-supporting comedians poke fun at Mick Malthouse - the former coach and games-record holder.

“Everyone will sit there and say ‘it’s only fun’ ... but don’t ever piss on history,” Robinson told Fox Footy’s AFL 360.

“I personally think that they’ve taken the mick out of Mick. Carlton said it’s a bit of fun, we’ll see what the reaction is over the next 12 hours because I think it’ll be really solid.”

The creator and star of the sketch, however, told The Hot Breakfast that it was a complete overreaction.

"I wrote it and made it - every club is trying to get their supporters and turn them into members - and we have a lot of fun with these things," Lee said of the skit.

"When I mentioned to the club (about the Mick Malthouse jokes) - I wanted to make sure they were happy and they were.

"So I said I would reach out to Mick Malthouse, which I did, and he came back saying 'yeah it's a dead ringer for me and go for it'."

"The leadership group of Dave Hughes and Sam Pang discussed it and I overheard it," Andy joked.
